A README YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY READ.
Get it playing.
Start with a saved song. Add live Windows audio when you're ready.
Download the full README ↓
Also included inside the ZIP.
Unzip the whole thing.
Right-click the ZIP → Extract All. Keep the extracted folder together somewhere writable, such as Documents. Install Microsoft's .NET 8 Desktop Runtime for Windows x64 ↗ if needed.
Open it. Pick a song.
Launch PitchChanger.exe — the window is called Rottweiler Sound. Choose Song file → Open file, select your audio, choose headphones in Settings, then press Play song.
Find your mood.
Move the pitch slider. Negative goes lower; positive goes higher. Save a setting as a mood, or use Compare original to hear the difference. F11 enters full screen; Escape brings you back.
Use Spotify or other Windows audio
This needs a one-time virtual cable setup. Download VB-CABLE from its official website ↗ and follow its installation and restart instructions. The driver is separate from this download.
- Start your music app. In Windows Settings → System → Sound → Volume mixer, set that app's output to CABLE Input. Leave your normal Windows output on your headphones.
- In Rottweiler Sound, choose Live audio and open Settings. Set Listening device to your physical headphones or speakers, and Incoming audio to the ordinary stereo CABLE Input.
- Keep Windows' Listen to this device off for CABLE Output. Close the recording-device settings afterwards to avoid triggering Bluetooth call mode.
- Confirm the routing in Rottweiler Sound, press Start listening, and play your music. Keep your original music app open.
Before you stop or close Rottweiler Sound: switch your music app's output back to Default or your headphones. Otherwise anything still feeding the cable will go silent.
For all Windows sound, set the main Windows output to CABLE Input instead. Restore it when you finish. The music-app picker controls playback; it does not route audio or select individual browser tabs.
Something sounds off?
Thin, quiet Bluetooth sound: your headset may be in call mode. End microphone use in chat apps, close recording-device panels, and use its stereo/music output.
Silence: check that the music app feeds CABLE Input, Rottweiler Sound is listening, and its output is your actual headphones. Refresh the devices in Settings after reconnecting them.
Echo or doubled music: turn off Windows' direct “Listen to this device” monitoring for the cable.
Missing controls: select the intended music app. Titles, artwork, skip and seek depend on what it shares with Windows. Saved songs support pause, seek and restart; there is no file playlist.

A small experimental utility. This portable build is unsigned and supplied as-is. Pitch processing adds delay, so video may drift out of sync; extreme pitch changes can sound rough. File support depends on Windows audio decoders.
Settings stay in a local data folder beside the app. It does not upload your audio or record it to disk. Music subscriptions remain separate.
